As part of Operation Tara and ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of illegal drugs and related criminal activity in the Galway area, the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit searched a car in the Knocknacarra area of Galway City on Monday 6th February 2023.
In the course of the search cash and Cannabis was recovered. A follow up search was conducted a residence in the Salthill area where investigating Gardaí recovered cigarettes worth €70,000 along with €3,100 cash and a small quantity of suspected Amphetamine.
No arrests were made in this phase of the investigation, Gardaí are however following definite line of inquiry.
The drugs seized are subject to analysis.
The investigation is ongoing.
