As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí in Tallaght stopped a vehicle on Cheeverstown Road, Tallaght and in a separate incident conducted a planned search under warrant at a residential property in Tallaght last night Wednesday 20th December, 2023.
At approximately 8pm, last night Gardaí attached to the Serious Crime Unit at Tallaght Garda station stopped and searched a vehicle on Cheeverstown Road, Tallaght. During the course of the search cannabis herb with an estimated value of €100,000 (analysis pending) was seized. A female (aged in her 40s) and male (late teens) were arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in South Dublin. Both are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
At approximately 9.30pm, a search operation under warrant was conducted by the Tallaght District Drug unit of a residential property in Tallaght. During the course of the search cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €378,000 (analysis pending) was seized. One man, aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene and taken to a Garda station in South Dublin. He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
