Operation Tara: €200,000 Drugs Seized and One Arrest, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. 5th August, 2023.

Gardaí have seized €200,000 worth of drugs and arrested one man as part of a mobile patrol in Blanchardstown, yesterday afternoon Saturday 5th August, 2023.

As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to Blanchardstown uniform patrol came upon an abandoned vehicle in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Gardaí seized cannabis herb and zopiclone tablet with a combined value of approximately €200,000.

The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

A man (aged in his 30s) was arrested as part of this investigation. He was detained at a Garda Station in North Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The man has since been charged and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Juctice, Court Number 1 on Monday morning, 7th August, 2023 at 10.30a.m.
