Following the discovery of a body this afternoon, Sunday 20th August 2023, at Rosses Point in Sligo, the missing person appeal for Paul Carthy has been stood down.

Gardaí in Sligo would like to thank the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), the Irish Coast Guard and Sligo Fire Services as well as the media and members of the public for their assistance in this matter.

No further media action is required and no further information is available at this time.
