Witness Appeal: Discharge of a Firearm and Criminal Damage, Co. Galway, 12th April 2023

Gardaí in Galway are appealing for witnesses following the discharge of a firearm in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday 12th April 2023.

At approximately 12.30am, a firearm was discharged at a private residence in the Ballydavid area of Athenry, Co. Galway. No person was injured during the incident, however damage was caused to the property.

At approximately 2.15am this morning, a silver Ford S-MAX was located burnt out on the outskirts of Moycullen village, Co. Galway.

Gardaí are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to these incidents to come forward.

Anyone who was in the Ballydavid area of Athenry or in the Moycullen area between 12am (midnight) and 2.30am and who may have noticed a silver Ford S-MAX is asked to contact investigating Gardaí. Any road users with camera footage (including dash cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí
