Gardaí in Drogheda have charged a man following the seizure of over €2,000 worth of heroin yesterday, Friday 28th April 2023.
As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of heroin in Drogheda, Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drug Unit in Drogheda searched a vehicle yesterday afternoon.
During the course of the search, Gardaí recovered €2,240 worth of suspected heroin separated into individual deal bags and a quantity of cash. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
Gardaí arrested one man (aged in his 20s) and he was taken to a Garda station in Co. Louth where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before court at later date.
