Gardaí have seized €48,000 in cash along with quantities of controlled drugs and arrested one man, as part of Operation Tara in County Mayo.
As part of an ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs and related criminal activity, the Mayo Divisional Drugs Task Force searched a number of properties in Castlebar, County Mayo on Monday the 5th of September, 2022.
In the course of the searches, Gardaí seized €48,000 in cash along with quantities of cocaine and cannabis worth in excess of €9,000 (analysis pending). Drug related paraphernalia along with electronic devices and weapons, including imitation firearms, were also seized.
One male, aged in his 40s, was arrested as part of this investigation. He is currently detained for questioning at Castlebar Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
The drugs and items seized will now be sent for further analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
