Gardaí in Galway have seized €60,000 worth of suspected cocaine and arrested one woman following a search operation this morning, Friday 28th October 2022.
At approximately 10am, Gardaí attached to the Galway Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a search under warrant at a residence in the Newcastle area.
During the course of the search, cocaine with an estimated street value of €60,000 was seized. The drugs are now subject to analysis.
A woman (aged in her 40s) was arrested at the scene and taken to Galway Garda Station at the North Western Region Headquarters, where she was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
She has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigations are ongoing.
