Gardaí have today arrested five people in relation to a public order incident which occurred in the Dalton Street area of Claremorris, County Mayo, in the early hours of Sunday, 6th February, 2022.
Claremorris Community Engagement Gardaí supported by Detectives from Mayo Crime and Western Region Armed Support Unit conducted searches under warrant at a number of addresses in Claremorris and Ballinrobe this morning, Tuesday 15th March 2022.
Four adult males (aged 20s, teens) and one juvenile male teen were arrested and are all currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a number of Garda Stations in the Mayo Region.
Claremorris Gardaí continue their appeal for any witnesses to this incident in the Dalton Street area between 2:40am and 3:00am, to come forward.

Gardaí investigating a number of public order and assault incidents that occurred in the Dalton Street area of Claremorris, County Mayo, in the early hours of Sunday, 6th February, 2022, are appealing to the public for information.
The incident involved a number of people and occurred outside a premises on Dalton Street between 2:40am and 3am.
Gardaí are aware that many people would have been in this area at this time following the closure of local nightclubs.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to this incident to come forward and, in particular, to any road users or passersby who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Dalton Street area between 2:40am and 3am.
