Gardaí attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, supported by a Special Crime Task Force, who are investigating the interception of a vehicle travelling on the M50 motorway and seized cannabis, cocaine and heroin, subject to analysis with an estimated street value of over €2 million on Wednesday 22nd June, 2022 have charged one of the men arrested.
The man, aged in his late 20s, who was detained under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 has been charged this evening Thursday 23rd June, 2022 and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice tomorrow morning Friday, 24th June, 2022 at 10.30a.m.
The five men of this second operation remain in Garda custody, at this time and investigations are ongoing.
