Court Appearance: Robberies at Train Stations, South Dublin, January 2022

Gardaí have arrested and charged one man, aged in his late teens, following an investigation into various incidents of theft that took place at train stations in Dublin in January 2022.

The incidents being investigated include:

  • Five robberies from persons at Shankill Dart Station on 15th January 2022
  • Two robberies from persons at Sandycove Dart Station on 11th January 2022
  • One attempted robbery from a person at Seapoint Dart Station on 8th January 2022

The man was arrested yesterday, Tuesday 18th January 2022 and was taken to Blackrock Garda Station where he was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

He was later charged in relation to these incidents and appeared before Dun Laoghaire District Court this morning, Wednesday 19th January 2022. He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court on 21st January 2022 at 10.30am.
