Gardaí have arrested a man following the seizure of approximately €34,000 worth of suspected cannabis plants under Operation Tara in Cavan town yesterday, February 2, 2022.
Gardaí attached to the Cavan Monaghan Divisional Drugs Unit conducted a search under warrant of a house in Cavan town shortly after 6.30pm on Wednesday.
During the course of the search Gardaí found that the upstairs bedrooms in the house had been converted for the cultivation of suspected cannabis plants.
Plants in various stages of growth, with an estimated value of €34,000, were seized by Gardaí.
A man in his early 50s has been arrested in connection with this seizure and is currently detained at Cavan Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
An investigation is ongoing.
