Witness Appeal: Serious Road Traffic Collision, N59, Dangan, Co. Galway, 19th December 2022

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that occurred on the N59 in Dangan, Co. Galway yesterday afternoon, Monday 19th December 2022.

At approximately 4.50pm yesterday, a car collided with a pedestrian on the Galway to Moycullen Road. The female pedestrian (70s) was taken to University Hospital Galway where her condition is described as serious.

No other injuries have been reported.

A technical examination of the scene has been completed by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.

Any road users who were in the vicinity of the N59 at Dangan, Co. Galway between 4.30pm and 5pm yesterday 19th December 2022, and who may have camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
