Seizure of Suspected Firearm and Ammunition, Dublin 8, Saturday, 24th December 2022

Shortly after 5pm on Saturday 24th December 2022, Gardaí from Kevin Street conducted a search under warrant of a residence in the Basin Street area of Dublin 8 as part of ongoing investigations into criminal activity in the vicinity.

During the course of this search, a suspected firearm, magazine and two rounds of ammunition were discovered concealed in the property and seized.

The suspected firearm will be sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for analysis.

No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
