UPDATE - Investigation into discovery of male, 19 years, with fatal gunshot injuries, Enfield, County Meath, Friday, 27th August, 2021

A male in his 50s, arrested yesterday evening Tuesday 31st August 2021 in Carlow for possession of a handgun (PR16206/2021 today refers) continues to be detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, 1939.

This male is now formally detained for offences connected with the fatal shooting of 19 year old Conor O’Brien in Enfield on the evening of Thursday 26th August 2021.

An Garda Síochána has no further comment at this time.
