Serious Assault, Magazine Road, Cork City, 10th May 2021

Gardaí are investigating a serious assault that occurred on Magazine Road, Cork city at approximately 4.15pm this afternoon, 10th May 2021.

A man, aged in his 20s, was stabbed during the incident. He was taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Following the search of a house in the Glasheen Road area of Cork, a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested and a knife was recovered.

The man is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 in Bridewell Garda Station.

Investigations are ongoing.
