Gardaí have seized €300,000 worth of cannabis (analysis pending) and €5,000 in cash following a search operation in North County Dublin on Thursday May 13th, 2021.
The drugs were discovered when Gardaí attached to the Balbriggan District Drugs Unit searched a house in the Lusk area as part of an ongoing investigation targeting local drugs distribution networks.
During the course of the search twenty one (21) packages of cannabis herb were found along with smaller amounts of cannabis resin and cocaine. Packaging equipment and paraphernalia associated with the sale and supply of drugs was also discovered. €5,000 in cash was also seized.
A man in his early 40s was arrested and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Balbriggan Garda Station. He can be held for up to seven days.
The drugs will be sent to FSI for analysis.
