A man in his 40s was arrested in the Limerick area this morning, Saturday May 15th 2021, by Gardaí investigating two suspected arson incident in Limerick City on Friday May 14th. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Mayorstone Park Garda Station.
Investigating Gardaí are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the Browns Quay area between 1am and 6am on Friday May 14th, particularly drivers with dash cam footage, to contact Mayorstone Park Garda Station on 061-456980, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
The investigation is ongoing.

Gardaí investigating two suspected arson incidents in Limerick city on May 14, 2021 are appealing for witnesses.
At around 1.30am, Gardaí received a report of a car on fire at Browns Quay. At around 5.30am Gardaí then received a report of a fire at a business close by. A significant amount of damage was caused to the building as a result of the fire.
Gardaí and fire services attended both scenes and a technical examination has since been completed. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
