As part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime operating in the Blanchardstown area, a Joint Intelligence led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, Gardaí attached to the Drugs Unit at Blanchardstown Garda Station and the Revenue Customs Service this afternoon, Friday 16th July, 2021.
The operation resulted in the search of a premises in the Blanchardstown area. During the course of this operation 6.68 Kgs herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €133,600 (One hundred and thirty three thousand and six hundred euro) was seized. The seized drugs will be forwarded for analysis.
One man, aged 22 years and one woman, aged 41 years were arrested in relation to drug trafficking offences. They are both currently being detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
