Fatal Road Traffic Collision, M7 Lisnagry, Co. Limerick, 28th January 2021

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Co Limerick on Thursday 28th January 2021.

At approximately 9:10pm Gardaí and Emergency Services were alerted to a two vehicle collision on the M7 Motorway, Eastbound at Richill, Lisnagary, Co. Limerick.  The collision involved a car and a lorry. The occupant of the car, a man in his 40’s was treated at the scene for injuries but was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. No other injuries are reported.

The deceased has been removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will be arranged. The crash site has been preserved for examination by Garda forensic collision investigators this morning. The road is closed to traffic and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and also to any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time, to make it available to investigators.
