On Thursday, 12th August, 2021, as part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime operating in the Darndale area, a joint intelligence led operation was conducted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Divisional Drug Units attached to Coolock and Ballymun Garda Station, and Revenue Customs Service.
The operation resulted in the search of a premises in the Darndale area. During the course of this search, approximately 2.48 Kgs of suspected cannabis herb with an estimated value of approximately €49,600 was seized by Customs Officers.
Gardaí arrested a 20 year old man in connection with this seizure and he is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at Swords Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
