On Friday 13th August, 2021 as part of ongoing investigations targeting persons suspected to be involved in organised crime, a Multi-Agency operation was conducted by personnel attached to the Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau and Cavan & Monaghan District Drugs Unit.
The operation resulted in the search of a residential property in Bailieborough. During the course of this operation 2.56 Kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €51,200 (fifty one thousand two hundred euro) was seized. The drugs will be sent for analysis.
One man, aged 27 years was arrested in relation to drug trafficking offences. The man is currently detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Bailieborough Garda Station.
