An Garda Síochána’s Strategy Statement 2022 – 2024 Request for Feedback

An Garda Síochána are in the process of amending and updating the strategy statement for the years 2022 – 2024 inclusive. The statement sets out the long-term operational priorities, as well as the key areas to focus on internally to support them for the organisation. It assists those who work in and with An Garda Síochána to understand our vision, as well as the strategic areas that we are focused on as a result.

The organisation prides itself on our close ties to the community which is at the centre of our policing role and has become very important in the context of the ongoing health crisis.

We are conscious that as our society is transitioning that we must adapt to better fulfil the needs of our communities, with particular emphasis on human rights and as always community engagement.

With this in mind An Garda Síochána is seeking the views and observations of the public on the future direction of the organisation. We welcome input about our policing service; how it’s delivered, responses to policing issues and comments on key matters over the next three years and in particular any recommendations which will assist in the development this new strategy statement.

To develop this strategy further, correspondence seeking input will issue to over 300 bodies/groups including all government departments, local authorities, a substantial number of non-governmental organisations and community representative groups.

To ensure that we provide all those with an interest in our policing service with an opportunity to have their say we are inviting the public to make submissions in one of three ways:

  1. Survey – a simple ten question survey is available through the Garda Website or by clicking

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BJG8F7H

  1. Email – submissions with views and recommendations can be emailed to

strategystatement2022@garda.ie

  1. Post – Written correspondence can be sent to Strategic Transformation Office, Ashtown Gate, Navan Road, Dublin 15, D15 NP9Y.

You can access more information about the survey and An Garda Síochána’s Strategy Statement on the Garda website at https://garda.ie//!Y4AF49.
