Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a motorcyclist and a van that occurred in the townland of Dromanhane, Glantane Road, Mallow, Co. Cork, this afternoon Wednesday 9th September, 2020 at approximately 3.40p.m.
The motorcyclist, a man in his late 30s was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to the Mortuary at Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place, in due course. The male driver of the van, a man in his 50s was treated for shock at the scene.
The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct their examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.
