Gardaí are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a truck and a car that occurred near Baxters Bridge, on the R586 Bandon to Carhoon road, Co. Cork on 09/09/2020 at approximately 12:40pm.
A female aged in her 60s, a passenger of the car, has been pronounced dead at the scene. A man, understood to be aged in his 60s, the driver of the car, has been taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition as described as serious. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The road is currently closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
