Gardaí are continuing to detain a man in his 40s under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 this evening (7/11/2020) at Mountjoy Garda Station.
The body of the deceased was removed to the Dublin City Mortuary where a post-mortem examination was carried out earlier today by the Office of the State Pathologist. A preliminary report has since been furnished to investigating Gardaí details of which are not being released for operational reasons.
The Garda Technical Bureau are continuing to examine the scene which remains sealed off.

Gardaí have arrested a man in relation to the discovery of a body of a man (40s) on Auburn Street, Dublin 7 this afternoon, Friday 6th November 2020.
The arrested male (40s) is currently detained in Mountjoy Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, on suspicion of murder.
A technical examination of the scene is currently underway by the Garda Technical Bureau. The body of the man remains at the scene and the services of the State Pathologist have been requested.
A Garda family liaison officer has been appointed and is in contact with the family of the deceased.
