Gardaí at Castlebar are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a car that occurred at approximately 12:20pm on Thursday 30th April 2020 at Market Square, Castlebar, County Mayo.
A woman in her late 60s received serious injuries after she was struck by a car which failed to remain at the scene.
The woman was taken to Mayo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A car was later located a short distance away and was technically examined in connection with this collision.
Investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward and for any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time to make this footage available to Gardaí.
