Gardaí were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision in Raheny, Dublin 5. The collision involving a pedestrian and a van occurred shortly after 7pm Wednesday 4th March 2020 on the James Larkin road, Raheny, Dublin 5.
It's believed the pedestrian, a female in her 30s was struck by a van after it mounted the path and travelled a short distance along the James Larkin road.
The female was fatally injured in the collision and pronounced dead shortly after. Her body has been removed from the scene and taken to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital where a post-mortem will take place.
The male driver of the van was uninjured and no other persons are believed to have been injured in the incident.
The scene at the crash site is currently preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the cycle pathway on this road remains closed.
