A man in his 40s, arrested on the N11, Shankill, 7th March 2020, in relation to Firearms Offences, is due to appear before Bray District Court this morning 9th March 2020 at 10.30am.

On the evening of Saturday 7th March, 2020, members attached to Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Emergency Response Unit supported by the Garda National Crime and Intelligence Service investigating organised crime stopped a vehicle in the Shankill area of South Dublin.
One male in his 40s was subsequently arrested and a Mach type Machine Pistol was seized. The prisoner was arrested pursuant to the provisions of section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act 1939/98 and is currently detained in a Garda Station, on the South side of Dublin.
Speaking today Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis, head of the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau said, "The seizure of firearms and the arrest of those who are prepared to use them continues to be a priority for the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau who remain totally committed to detecting and disrupting those involved and bringing them before the courts.”
