A man has been arrested following a Garda investigation into a number of robberies of retail premises' that occurred in the Ballyfermot area recently.
On Thursday 12th March 2020, a robbery of a shop took place on the Ballyfermot Road where a man armed with a knife threatened staff before fleeing with a sum of cash.
On Monday 23rd March 2020, a man entered a shop, also on the Ballyfermot Road, and threatened staff with what's believed to be a screwdriver. A sum of cash and cigarettes were taken and the male fled the scene on foot.
At a shop on the Sarsfield Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10, on Thursday 2nd April 2020, a man fled the scene with a sum of cash and cigarettes after threatening staff with a knife.
On Friday 3rd April 2020, a man entered a pharmacy in Ballyfermot armed with a lump hammer and fled the scene with a number of tablets after threatening staff.
During an operation carried out by Ballyfermot DDU on Friday 3rd April 2020, the man in his 30s was arrested and detained at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
He will appear at Dublin District Court this morning Saturday 4th April 2020 charged in connection with these incidents.
