A 29-year-old man is due to appear before a sitting of Dundalk District Court this morning (13/11/2019) charged following the seizure of cocaine with an estimated street value of €1.4m during a Garda operation in Drogheda on 11/11/2019.

Update Seizure of €1.4million worth of Cocaine Drogheda 11th November 2019
As part of an intelligence led operation under Operation Stratus, follow up searches were conducted late last night, Monday November 11 in Drogheda.
On foot of these searches, Gardaí seized approximately €25,000 worth of cannabis pending analysis.
One male, in his thirties, who was arrested on Monday November 11, is currently detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.

At approximately 12.35pm on November 11, local Gardaí from Drogheda Garda Station intercepted a vehicle at the Donore Road Industrial Estate, Drogheda, County Louth.
Following a search of this vehicle, packages containing white powder which is believed to be cocaine (subject to analysis) was recovered.
In total 20kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of €1.4 million euros has been recovered.
One male, in his thirties, was arrested at the scene and is currently being detained at Drogheda Garda Station under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
This operation is ongoing and there are no further details at this time.
