Updated Appeal - Shooting Incident in Coolock, Dublin on the 28/5/19
A post mortem is currently being carried out today 29/5/19 by the Acting State Pathologist, Dr. Michael Curtis, at the Dublin City Mortuary in relation to the fatal shooting of a man in his 40s, that occurred on 28/05/19 in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock.
Speaking earlier today, 29/5/19, outside Santry Garda Station, Detective Inspector Michael Mulligan said:
"We are appealing for anyone with information on the deceased man's whereabouts yesterday, 28/05/19, to come forward. We are also interested in speaking to anyone who was in either the Kilbarron Avenue or Castletymon Gardens areas of Coolock yesterday 28/05/19. We are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who has information on the silver Toyota Avensis car (04-D-71806) and its whereabouts since it was sold on 20/05/19. This car was found burnt out yesterday 28/05/19 in the Castletymon Gardens area."

Gardaí investigating a fatal shooting incident that occurred at Kilbarron Avenue, Coolock on 28/05/19 will conduct a media briefing and appeal today at Santry Garda Station. Media outlets are invited to attend.
The briefing will be given by Detective Inspector Michael Mulligan.

A man in his early 40s has been pronounced dead at the scene following a fatal shooting incident that occurred in the front garden of a house in the Kilbarron Avenue area of Coolock on 28/05/19 at approximately 3:30pm. The body remains at the scene pending examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The Office of the State Pathologist has been notified and it is anticipated that a post mortem will take place on 29/05/19.
It is understood that 3 men wearing balaclavas were involved in this incident and left the scene in a silver Toyota Avensis (04-D-71806). This vehicle was found abandoned and on fire in the Castletymon Gardens area of Coolock at approximately 3:45pm. The scene remains preserved for a Garda technical examination.
An incident room has been established at Ballymun Garda Station. Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Ballymun on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
Gardaí are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who was in the vicinity of the Kilbarron Avenue or Castletymon Gardens areas of Coolock between 3:15pm and 4pm on 28/05/19, especially road users who may have dash cam footage.
