One man is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts Of Justice, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8 at 4.30pm this afternoon, Friday May 10th 2019 charged in connection with a drugs seizure in Gormanston, Co Meath on Wednesday 8th May 2019.

As part of an intelligence led operation by the Gardaí from Ashbourne Co Meath and the Ballymun Garda Drugs Unit, a property in Gormanston Co Meath was searched today, Wednesday May 8th 2019.
During the course of the search Cannabis Herb (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €2.5million was seized together with two (2) hand grenades. The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal team (EOD) were called to the scene and have made the devices safe.
One male was arrested at the location and is currently detained at Ashbourne Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 – Drug Trafficking Act 1996.
Investigations are continuing.
