Update - Serious Hit and Run Collision Cork

A male teenager arrested in connection with a serious hit and run in Cork (Previous Press Release refers) was released from Garda custody this morning (27/3/19). A file will now be prepared for the information of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí investigating a serious hit and run collision in Cork City, have arrested a juvenile in his late teens today 26th March 2019. He is detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at The Bridewell (Cork) Garda station.

Gardaí wish to renew their appeal and ask that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who have any information to contact them. Gardaí believe there were a number of people in the car at the time of the incident and would appeal to the passengers to come forward.

Gardaí at Anglesea Street in Cork investigating a hit and run collision in Cork City yesterday, Monday March 25th 2019 have recovered a blue saloon car believed to have been involved in his incident. (Previous Press Release refers) The car was recovered approximately 1 km from the scene of the collision.  

The injured boy is described as critical but stable at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital in Dublin.
