Update – Kane McCormack Murder Investigation December 2017

Gardaí investigating the murder of Kane McCormack in December 2017 have released a man in his 40s who was being detained as part of the investigation. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions

The man, arrested in the Dublin area, was being detained under Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ashbourne Garda Station.

This was the second arrest in relation to this investigation.

Gardai investigating the murder of Kane McCormack have arrested a male in his 40s this morning in relation to the investigation.

The male was arrested in the Dublin area and is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ashbourne Garda Station.
 
This is the second arrest in relation to this investigation.

Gardaí in Ashbourne are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of a body of a man in his 20s in Co. Meath.

The man’s body was discovery this morning in a field at Walterstown, Dunboyne near the Meath / Kildare border.

The scene is preserved for a forensic and technical examination and the Garda Technical Bureau have been requested to attend. The office of the state pathologist and local Coroner have been notified.

The body of the man remains at the scene and has yet to be formally identified.

No additional information is available at this time investigating Gardaí are however treating the death as suspicious.

An incident room has been established at Ashbourne Garda Station and enquiries are ongoing.
