Updates - Searches on the Ratoath Road, Finglas, Dublin 11 on the 18/6/19
Gardaí from Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda stations who were carrying out searches today, Tuesday 18th June, 2019 have concluded their searches.
This operation began this morning with a number of searches conducted in the Ratoath Road area of Finglas and a number of local units assisting, including local uniform, Community policing, Drugs unit members and Detective members. They were also assisted by a Customs search dog, the Garda Water Unit and the Armed Support unit. The searches continued until late this evening.
During the course of the searches, a large quantity of drugs (Heroin & Cocaine) were seized in excess of €320,000, subject to analysis. A large amount of stolen property, was also seized including a large number of high value clothing, an amount of cash, two Rolex watches, a BMW vehicle and a small quantity of ammunition.
A total of three persons were arrested. Two women (both early 40s) were arrested during the course of the searches and both were detained under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Finglas Garda Station. They have both been charged in relation to the searches and released on bail. One man (late 40s) was also arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Finglas Garda station and has been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

As part of an Intelligence led Operation today the 18th June 2019, Gardaí from the Blanchardstown/Finglas Division supported by the Armed Support Unit, and assisted by The Garda Dog Unit, The Garda Water Unit and Revenue, carried out a number of searches on the Ratoath Road area of Finglas, Dublin 11.
Today’s Operation is focussed on targeting organised criminal gangs and the disruption of criminal gangs and their activities in the distribution of controlled drugs in the Blanchardstown / Finglas area.
