As part of ongoing operations targeting the sale and supply of drugs in the Rutland Street/Summerhill area of Dublin, two houses were searched this morning (30/7/19) in a planned operation by local Gardaí. The operation was led by the Mountjoy District Community Action Team, assisted by other units from Mountjoy Garda Station.
During the searches Gardaí seized prescription medication (1,000 Zopiclone Tablets) along with, cannabis herb, approximately €2k in cash, weighing scales & packaging, mobile phones, drug paraphernalia and a watch.
Two males aged in their 20s & 30s were arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at Store Street Garda Station. Both men have since been charged and are expected to appear before a sitting of Dublin District Court (C.C.J. 2) later this evening.
