A 29 year old man, detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station, has been charged in relation to this incident. He is due to appear before Limerick District Court on 3/7/19 at 10.30am.
The 18 year old man, detained at Henry Street Garda Station, has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardaí investigating the murder of Kevin Sheehy, 20 years, that occurred at 4.40a.m. at Hyde Road, Limerick can confirm the post mortem will take place this morning, Tuesday 2nd July 2019 at University Hospital Limerick by Dr. Allen Cala, Locum Assistant State Pathologist.
The two arrested men are now detained at Roxboro Road Garda Station and Henry Street Garda station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Two male suspects arrested in connection with Fatal Hit and Run, Hyde Road, Limerick 1st July 2019
The two male suspects arrested and detained at a Midlands Garda Station on suspicion of murder are aged in their late teens and late twenties.
Gardaí investigating a fatal hit and run incident between a pedestrian and a jeep that occurred on Hyde Road in Limerick at approximately 4.40am on 1st July 2019, have this evening arrested two male suspects (ages unknown at this point) who are currently being detained at a Midlands Garda Station on suspicion of murder. There will be no Garda spokesperson at this time.
Gardaí continue to appeal for anyone with information on the incident, particularly anyone in the area around the time of the collision, who may have dash cam footage, to contact them at Roxboro Road Garda Station on 061 214 340, the Garda confidential line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Gardaí are investigating a fatal hit and run incident between a pedestrian and a jeep that occurred on Hyde Road in Limerick at approximately 4.40am on 1/7/19.
A man aged in his early 20s has been pronounced dead at the scene. His body remains at the scene pending a Garda Technical Examination. The vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, a black Mitsubishi Shogun jeep, failed to remain at the scene. The road remains closed currently and diversions are in place.
