Gardaí in Waterford are appealing for information following a shooting incident Monday December 23, 2019.
At approximately 2.15pm a male in his 30s was approached and shot a number of times outside a premises on the Carrickphierish Road in Waterford.
The injured man was initially treated at the scene before he was taken by Ambulance to University Hospital Waterford. He remains in Hospital where his condition is understood to be critical.
The scene is currently preserved for examination by local scenes of crime officers and the road remains closed with local diversions in place. An incident room has been established at Waterford Garda Station where a case conference was held by investigators this evening. Gardaí are examining all circumstances surrounding this incident today. No arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Carrickphierish Road area, near the Mount Suir Apartments, between 1pm and 2.30pm to come forward. They are particularly appealing to motorists with camera footage (including dashcam) from the area to make it available to investigators.
