Gardaí at Mallow, Co Cork are appealing for witnesses following a fatal traffic collision at Newtwopothouse this morning, Monday August 12th 2019.
At approximately 7am Gardaí, Ambulance Services and local Fire Services attended the scene of a serious collision involving a car and a rigid truck on the N20 at Newtwopothouse, Cork to Limerick Road. The male driver of the car (age unknown and only occupant) was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the truck was uninjured.
The scene is currently preserved and Garda forensic collision investigators have been requested to examine the crash site. Local traffic diversions are expected to remain in place today. The local Coroner has been notified.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are also appealing to those with dash cam footage to make it available to investigators. Anyone with information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022-31450 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
