Operation Silver Fin 6th August 2019

This is an operation involving An Garda Síochána, the PSNI, the Loughs Agency, along with the Partnership for Action Against Wildlife Crime. An Garda Síochána is committed to tackling wildlife crime including fish poaching in conjunction with our partners. The significance of this kind of crime cannot be over stated. At the most serious level it can have a direct impact on the economic, environmental and cultural lives of communities and can also negatively affect the conservation status of some native species.

Gardaí wish to seek the public’s assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 15 year old Eric McLoughlin who is missing from his home in Mitchelstown, Co Cork. Eric was last seen on the 2nd August 2019 in Ballygiblin. It is believed he may have travelled to Dublin. He is described as being 5’6’’ in height and of slim build. He has light brown hair and blue eyes.
