As part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug importations, in County Kildare, a joint intelligence led operation was conducted by the Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, and Gardai from the Drugs Unit in Naas, on the 15th May 2018, at a residential address in Naas, County Kildare.
During this operation, a package was seized by Customs, which contained over 1/2Kg of Herbal Cannabis (pending analysis) with an estimated value of €12,000 euro together with a quantity of cash, approximately €35,000.
A 22 year old male were arrested as part of the operation by Gardaí. He was detained at Naas Garda Station under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and released late on the 16/05/18. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
