Gardaí in Mallow are renewing their appeal for information following a suspected fatal hit-and-run collision in Co. Cork. An investigation was launched following the discovery of a body of a 67-year-old Alister Hines on the road side at Ballybane, Liscarroll shortly before 9.30am on the 17th June, 2018.
A full forensic and technical examination of the scene was carried out at the scene. No arrests have been made to date and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to come forward. Speaking at Mallow Garda Station Inspector Brian Goulding said "We would like to thank members of the public who have provided information to date and are again appealing to anyone with information to contact us. We are particularly appealing to motorists who travelled on the road from Castlecor to John’s Bridge on the morning of the incident between 1am and 9.30am to come forward.”

Gardaí in Mallow are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body of a 67-year-old male on the side of the road near Ballybane, Liscarroll, Co. Cork in a suspected hit and run incident.
The body was discovered this morning at approximately 9.30am on the road from Castlecor to Johns Bridge at Ballybane, Liscarroll. The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and the Office of The State Pathologist has been contacted. The body remains at the scene.
