Drug seizure of Cannabis herb approx value €24,000 in Dublin on the 14/8/18

As part of ongoing joint investigations targeting drug importations, in the West Dublin area, a Joint Intelligence Led Operation was conducted by  the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, the Revenue’s Customs Service from the Dublin Region and the Drugs Unit from Ronanstown, Dublin, on the morning, of the 14th August 2018.  

Gardaí entered a residence in Lucan, Co Dublin on foot of a search warrant assisted by Customs units. During the search a package was seized by Customs, which contained approx.  1¼Kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €24,000 euro (subject to analysis). A 25 year old Irish male was arrested at the scene, as part of the operation by Gardaí. He was detained at Ronanstown Garda Station under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended. He has since been released for a file to be submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions. 

Investigations are continuing.
