Gardai in Roscommon are investigating a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a bus on the R446 at Ballydangan, Co. Roscommon this morning at approximately 10am.
A man in his 50s was fatally injured when the car he was driving was involved in a collision with a bus. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Roscommon Hospital. An 11 year old girl who was the passenger in the car received minor injuries and was taken to Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe. The driver of the bus and 3 passengers were taken to Portiuncula Hospital, with minor injuries. 12 passengers in total were on the bus.
This stretch of the R446 is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
