A male and a female in their 40s were fatally injured when the car they were travelling in was involved in a collision with a 4 x 4 vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene and their bodies were removed to Waterford Hospital. The driver and passenger of the 4 x4 were taken to Wexford Hospital with injuries described as minor.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
