A man in his 60s arrested as part of this investigation has been released without charge. A file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Investigating Gardai are continuing to appeal to anyone who can assist them to contact the incident room at Galway Garda Station. They are particularly appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any altercation involving males on the Old Dublin Road / Cardinal Crushing Road in the Mervue area between 12 midnight and 4am on Sunday (12/3/2017) to contact them.
