Gardaí have made a further seizure of controlled drugs and cash at a location at Pettetstown, Dunshaughlin, Co Meath today, Wednesday March 15th 2017. (Previous Press Release 262/17 is attached for information)
Gardaí from the Special Crime Task Force, in collaboration with specialised units from the Dublin Region, Armed Support Unit and Gardaí from the Meath Division carried out an intelligence led operation targeting Organised Crime.
During the course of today’s search, controlled drugs (Heroin and Cocaine subject to analysis) with an estimated street value €285,000, were recovered along with approximately €100,000 in cash.
Two males, 35 years and 23 years of age who were arrested yesterday as part of this investigation remain in Garda custody.
Firearm and Drugs Seized Co. Meath 14/03/17
Gardai have seized controlled drugs, a firearm and arrested two males following a planned operation this morning at a location in Pelletstown, Dunshaughlin, Co. Meath.
Gardai from the Special Crime Task Force, in collaboration with specialised units from the Dublin Region, Armed Support Unit and Gardai from the Meath Division carried out an intelligence led operation targeting Organised Crime.
During the course of a search, controlled drugs (Heroin and Crack Cocaine) with an estimated street value €60,000 (pending analysis), were recovered along with approximately €50,000 in cash. A sub machine gun (subject to technical examination) was also recovered.
Two males, 35 years and 23 years of age, have been arrested and are currently detained at Blanchardstown and Finglas Garda stations under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996. .
The location of this find is currently preserved and further searches will be carried out in the morning 15th March 2017.
