Gardai are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R157, Maynooth to Dunboyne Road at approximately 9am today.
A 39 year old male was fatally injured when the car he was driving and the sole occupant, collided with a pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Our Lady's Hospital Navan.
This stretch of road, near Dunboyne, was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.
