Gardaí in Midleton, Co.Cork are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision this morning, Sunday 12th March, 2017.
At approximately 09.45am Gardaí were called to the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision involving a car at Ballinwillin Strand, Co Cork. The sole occupant of the car, a man in his 40s was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place.
The scene of the collision is preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local traffic diversions are in place.
